1. The maturity continueum helps to explain how different people react and engage in different relationships.
2. Its also a good guide for preparing somebody for marriage, it helps them know if they are mature enough to take care of themselves
3. Sometimes we can take power naps during class if its absolutley necessary

Next time i find myself absolutley exausted im taking a nap during class. just for a few minutes

The maturity Continueum is a good thing to become familiar with, even if your not too sure how to spell continueum. Its a difficult word.

Its nice to know that there is a martial arts style that teaches you how to instantly kill your opponent. what a happy world we live in. lets just kill everyone before we get into any conflict.

1. The five Cancerous feelings can be devestating to your relationships
2. If your not careful someone might think poorly of you if you exhibit a Cancerous Feeling
3. People will probably try to use better emotions if they are educated about it, dont be so hard on people who show cancerous signs, just help them see what they should be doing.

Next time i see myself complaining ill stop myself.

Mason recognised the Cancerous emotions, they are something that shouldnt be trifled with he said. He thought it was a good idea to try and supress them and to use more mature methods of venting frustration.

Empathic Listening can be a powerful tool if you know what your doing. I keep getting the impression that what were doing in class is more or less just an emotional version of Active Listening. Which to me, doesnt seem like it would be that effective. Empathic Listening should have more emotional investment, the person you are listening to should know that you honest to goodness are listening because your responding realistically. To be honest im not sure that 100% pure Empathic Listening has any use, because to me it doesnt get anywhere. If your in a relationship where there isnt enough trust for you to be able to ask even any small questions, then your probably not the right person to be talking to. Questions can be necessary.

1. Remember actually means Renew your membership to something. Like reassociating yourself with a memory.
2. The Virtuous Cycle skips the consequences that take place through pride
3. The Viscious Cycle takes place without ever experienceing humility

• Its easy enough to catch yourself and recognise most blessings, just make sure you can stay humble and grateful about it

I taught mason about it and he thought it was interesting that the "Viscious Cycle" had a positive counterpart the "Virtuous Cycle"

Seeing the word Remember a different way was really interesting to me. It added a slightly different feel about the way i remember things now.

1. People respond better when you point out positive things they have done
2. Use words like "And" instead of "but" so that it doesnt push aside the things youve said
3. Pointing out negative things reminds people that they are a failure, which can be a burden.

• Someday when little kids come my way ill praise them about the positive things they do rather then pointing out the negative things

I told Eliot my neighbor about how using "And" instead of "But" can have a more positive impact on a conversation because it doesnt push aside the the points that you made earlier. Its a helpful habit to get accustomed to

I had a conversation yesterday with a friend of mine, she said that a man actually went as far as to name two of his kids "winner" and "loser" as an experiment. As absolutely bizzare as it sounds the kid named Winner acutaully went on to be convicted of a number high crimes and is now serving time in prison. Where as the kid named Loser goes by the name "Lou" and has become a succseful business man. Very very curious.
